2 Day Training for Mental Health Professionals, Melbourne

People with mental illness face many internal and external barriers to change. This training focuses on practical strategies, which can be used in all mental health settings, to facilitate motivation and assist people with a mental illness to make sustainable change. Participants are asked to bring challenging case studies, which will be used to demonstrate this approach.

Training is provided by Mara Pacers, BBSc (psych), BSW, MPPM, PhD cand, who has over 20 years experience in the mental health field in both clinical and community based settings. She is an accredited Trainer in Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Programs that she has designed and managed have twice won the Aust and NZ Gold Award for Mental Health Services (1997 Prahran Mission & 2005 Aspire Tasmania). She has been providing consulting and training in Recovery Based Approaches for mental health professionals, Carers and Consumers across Australia for the past 8 years.
Training is interactive incl; lectures, small groups, and case studies.
The Training includes all materials, lunch and tea and coffee.
